Summary of 2009 – Centre Report

OCF UniSA has been given the privilege by University of South Australia to be affiliated with the
University with strong partnership with Uni-Life over the past 2 years. OCF UniSA has been
established for a vision, which is to REACH OUT, BUILD UP and SEND BACK
international students. We basically focus on reaching out to all international students on campus,
to share with them about Jesus Christ being the Lord and the Savior, building them up as
Christians hence, preparing and equipping them as they graduate and return to their home
countries.

Even as we celebrate our 12th Anniversary this year (2009), we would want to give all our praises
and glory to Him as He has guided and blessed OCF UniSA for the past 12 years in many ways
that we couldn’t imagine. We are indeed blessed by the vast intake of international students that
were spread across 4 campuses (City East, City West, Magill and Mawson Lakes) which gives us a
huge opportunity to do MISSIONS (REACH OUT) right at our campus corridors. The close
proximity between campuses has given OCF UniSA the privilege to hold Weekly Prayer Meetings
across City East, City West and Magill Campus during lunch hour breaks.

The average weekly attendance has been around 60 to 70 people, with a good mixture of
international students from different countries and different UniSA Campuses. We hold our
meetings every Friday at 6.45pm in City East Campus at C3-16.

Our weekly program would be as following:
6.15pm – 6.45pm : Pre-OCF Prayer Meeting
6.45pm – 7.15pm  : Pre Bible Study Sharing and Prayer
7.15pm – 7.45pm  : Praise and Worship
7.45pm – 8.00pm  : Announcements
8.00pm – 9.45pm  : Bible Study
9.45pm – 10.30pm : Refreshments

OCF UniSA has the privilege to organize a few events on campus from early September 2008 to
September 2009. The events are as follows:

3. Combine Summer Program 2008
Three OCF centre in SA would come together during the summer holidays to have time for
prayer, praise and worship, bible study and fellowship. As most of the International Students

during summer would find Summer Program an opportunity for them to learn and grown
from the word.

4. Multi-Cultural Night 2009

This event functions as an avenue for evangelistic to welcome new International Students to
Australia. The night themed around different culture and nations with the idea in mind to
respect and enjoy different cultures and countries hence introducing Australia’s culture and
norms to new students. The night is double up with food, games and performance from
different countries. Overall, this even has attracted not only students but parents who
accompany their children to Australia.

**A huge thanks to Danny Wong and your team for organizing this amazing event. Thanks for the hard work in preparation for the whole night.

5. Orientation Program
o O-Week 2009

We were given the opportunity to set up booths in all 4 UniSA Campuses across
a week in mid-February 2009. This gives us an avenue to do outreach and
welcome new international students to our ministry with a taste of friendship,
fellowship and Christianity. We have decided to go all out and spend our
resources to reach out to students through bookmarks, calendars, pens, etc that
would sow seeds of Christ’s love.

o Welcome Night 2009 – 6th March 2009

We were able to generate a huge list of students that were interested to know
more and join us through O-Week. All of them were informed and contacted
about Welcome Night 2009 through text messages and email. A huge turnout for
the night was a reflection of God’s blessing. It was a night where we had games,
praise and worship, presentations, food and fellowship.

o Explore Race 2009

OCF UniSA has the tradition to host a day of fun and outing through exploring
our beautiful city of Adelaide. This fellowship event is a replication of hit TV
reality show Amazing Race, but at a smaller scale. This event proved to be
effective to help international students get used to walking around Adelaide City
hence knowing the best places and deals that would suit students’ tight budget for
expenses.

2. Prayer, Praise & Worship Night 2009

The aim and purpose of this event was to provide a time set aside to come together as a
centre to pray for our nation, our family, our friends, our selves etc hence incorporating
praise and worship for the whole night. It’s a night that we offer ourselves to God to
refresh and reconnect our relationship with Christ, purely personal and God.

3. Evangelistic – Christmas in July (C.I.J.) 2009

OCF UniSA has the tradition of hosting Christmas in July as an evangelistic night where
the message of why Christ was born is being shared. This event has all the elements of
Christmas including Christmas decoration, songs, food etc. This event functions as a
Welcome Night to all international students who arrived during the mid-year intakes. We
need to Praise the Lord for the many new friends that He brought to us through this event
hence allowing us to sow seeds into each of their lives.

Our sincere acknowledgement and thanks to C.I.J. 2009 team for organizing it.

4. OCF SA Combine Meetings

As a state, OCF SA General Committee saw a great need for UNITY between OCF UniSA,
